As the holiday season fills our days with celebrations, it’s easy for our bodies to feel a little overloaded. A simple one-day soup cleanse is a gentle way to reset, nourish, and come back into balance—without giving up any of the fun.

You may say, “What, cleanse in the middle of the holiday season?” Yes, but just for 1 day.
The holidays are such a joyful time—full of celebration, connection, and of course, plenty of delicious food. I love savoring every moment (and yes, a little extra dessert and wine). But I also like to stay in balance so my body feels healthy, energized, and supported.
One of my favorite ways to reset gently—without feeling restricted—is with this Easy One Day Soup Cleanse.
A single day of blended soups offers your digestive system a chance to rest, while still giving your body the nutrients it needs to feel strong and vibrant. It’s a simple, nourishing ritual that helps you stay healthy throughout the holiday season. By the next day, you’ll feel lighter, clearer, and beautifully restored.
What Is a Cleanse—and Why Do One?
Cleansing isn’t about deprivation. It’s about supporting your body’s natural ability to release what it no longer needs.
The truth is, we’re detoxing all the time. Your liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, and digestive tract are always working on your behalf. But during the holidays, when we’re eating richer food, enjoying festive drinks, and often moving a little less, our system can get a bit overloaded.
A one-day soup cleanse gives your body a refreshing pause—helping you gently release toxins and support your natural detoxification pathways. It’s not a big production. It’s simply a mindful day of nourishment, restoration, and ease.
The Benefits of a One-Day Soup Cleanse
Eating blended soups for a full day offers a beautiful combination of nourishment and rest:
- Gives your digestive system a break so your organs don’t have to work as hard.
- Provides essential nutrients from vegetables, herbs, and healing spices.
- Supports natural detoxification and helps clear out accumulated waste.
- Helps prevent holiday weight gain by balancing indulgent days with lighter ones.
- Leaves you feeling lighter, clearer, and more energized—even after just 24 hours.
The best part? The soups are absolutely delicious. This isn’t about willpower—it’s about choosing foods that love you back.
One-Day Soup Cleanse for Weight Loss and Better Digestion
This soup cleanse isn’t just for the holidays—you can enjoy it anytime you want an easy, nourishing reset. It’s a simple way to give your body a break and come back into balance.
If you’re looking to lose weight or simply feel more aligned in your body, doing this one-day soup cleanse once a week can be incredibly supportive. You’ll help restore your digestive system, reduce inflammation, release accumulated toxins, and create a gentle rhythm that your body absolutely loves.
It’s an effortless practice that helps you feel lighter, clearer, and more vibrant—no matter what season you’re in.
How to Do This Easy One-Day Soup Cleanse
This cleanse is designed to be simple, supportive, and enjoyable—never restrictive or stressful. Your body thrives when it feels cared for.
1. Eat Only Blended Soup for the Day
Enjoy blended soup for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
You can pick one soup and eat it all day, or enjoy a rotation. I’ve included 4 nourishing recipes below, along with links to a few more if you want even more variety.
Eat as much soup as you need—this is not about feeling hungry or depleted.
2. Drink Plenty of Water
Hydration is essential for flushing toxins and supporting digestion.
Aim for ½ your ideal body weight in ounces of water daily.
Start your morning with 8–12 ounces (add lemon if it feels good).
Also drink 12 ounces of water 15–30 minutes before meals to support digestive enzymes.
3. Move Your Body
Take a 5–30 minute walk, preferably in the morning.
Bundle up if it’s cold—this is about gentle movement, not intensity.
Walking early helps reset your natural cortisol rhythm, boosts energy, and improves sleep.
4. Snack If Necessary
The intention is to lighten the load, but always listen to your body.
If you feel hungry or low on energy, simply enjoy another bowl of soup.
Staying hydrated will help keep your energy steady and your nervous system at ease.
Your Nourishing Soup Recipes
You can choose from four delicious blended soups that flood your body with nutrients and feel incredibly comforting. Each recipe is designed to be warming, satisfying, and deeply supportive. You need a blender to make these soups. I recommend a high speed blender but a traditional blender will also work. Chicken bone broth provides more protein but vegetable broth is great if that’s best for you.
Here is a list of the soups:
- Carrot Red Lentil Soup
- Vegan Broccoli Soup
- Golden Turmeric Soup
- Green Goddess Soup

If beans are not part of your diet, you can make the soup with a potato instead of the beans. Read more about the health benefits of this soup here.

Notes
Turmeric has a strong flavor, so if you’ve never tried it before and you’re not sure you will like it, I would suggest using 1 teaspoon to start. If you’re a confident turmeric user, you can add up to 3 teaspoons for more powerful healing!
Turmeric Stains: Depending on your blender, this soup can leave a stain from the turmeric. If this happens, we recommend leaving your blender sitting in a window in the sun for a day or two which will help get rid of the stains! Alternately use an immersion blender.
